Why SAT ?
The Scholastic Assessment Test or SAT is taken by students who want to pursue their undergraduation from an overseas college or university. This exam is a prerequisite for admission to a graduate program. This exam is conducted by the College Board with acceptance in over 800 universities globally. SAT scores are accepted in countries like the USA, UK, Germany, Australia and Canada.
The GRE has been designed to check the academic awareness of the aspirant. Its scores are accepted by thousands of business and law schools worldwide. This test is conducted to enable educational institutions to identify applicants who are academically capable of completing the business or law program successfully.
The purpose of the test is to assess student readiness for college by measuring the literacy, numeracy, and writing skills necessary for academic success in college. Scholastic Assessment Tests measure how well test takers analyse and solve problems. Scores have been a major factor in the application process for students applying for graduate admission abroad. SAT Exam Age Eligibility
There is no such age limit set for students who are planning to appear on the test. A student who wants to pursue an undergraduate course or program in the USA, Canada, or any other country is supposed to complete their high school education successfully.

SAT Score Range is between 400-1600 and the section-wise range is 200-800.
You can send your SAT scores to your selected colleges and universities only after checking them on the College Board.
In case you are not satisfied with the SAT results, then you can choose “score verification” or you can cancel the scores by clicking on “score cancellation”. Your results will not be sent to the selected universities.
SAT Exam Cut Off
There is no SAT cut off. However, if you have an exceptional academic profile, a low SAT score can be considered.

SAT to go Digital
he College Board has announced that the Scholastic Assessment Test will be delivered digitally from the year 2024. This decision is expected to bring about a number of positive changes both for the students and educators.
The Scholastic Assessment Test time has decreased to 2 hours from 3 hours.The digital version of Scholastic Assessment Test will have a built in calculator and mathematical formulas, highlighter etc. which will ensure students have all the tools for solving questions.

Exam Syllabus

The Scholastic Assessment Test exam syllabus is divided into 2 broad categories:
- Evidence Based Reading & Writing and
- Maths
There is a SAT essay section which is completely optional for candidates. However, some universities prefer the students to attempt the essay as well.
The Scholastic Assessment Test exam has a time limit of 3 hours and 50 Mins with extra time allotted for essays. The total score is 1600

In order to Book a SAT Slot you have to Register for SAT
SAT Registration:
The College Board conducts the SAT exam and its results will be available within 2 weeks of the test.
The exam will be in paper and pencil mode and has a time frame of 180 Mins. SAT registration can be done both online and offline. Though the online method is more convenient.
SAT Online Registration
You can follow the below-listed steps for successful exam registration:
- Visit the official website of the College Board.
- Create an account
- Fill in the details carefully.
- Upload your latest photograph.
- Select test center and date
- After filling in the exact details, you will be asked to pay the registration fee for the exam
- Once you have successfully done payment of the application form, take a printout of the admit card required for the exam day.

To register for SAT through mail candidates have to
- Request SAT student registration booklet from college board or a counsellor
- Fill in the application form
- SAT aspirants must mail the form with the money order to college board SAT program

On the Test Day?
Arriving at your SAT Test Center
- arrive early at the test center, you will not be allowed to enter the center if you are late.
- keep all your personal belongings outside including your cell phones, watches, and other electronic belongings
- there will be an official break
